The Wulanbuhe and Desert Northeast New Energy Base Project jointly developed by State Power Investment Corporation Limited and Mengneng Group was officially approved on October 9th. It is reported that the project plans for a total capacity of 12 million kilowatts of new energy, including 3.5 million kilowatts of wind power and 8.5 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power, relying on the supporting power of the surrounding power plant (including the nearby area) to transform and upgrade 4 million kilowatts of coal-fired power. Flexible resources such as new energy storage and solar thermal power generation will be coordinated and constructed. The project plans to use 7 megawatt or above models for wind turbines, P-type 550 watt double-sided double-glass high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon components for photovoltaic components, and lithium iron phosphate cells for electrochemical storage. The thermal power installation scheme is proposed to select 4 × 1 million kilowatt high-efficiency ultra-supercritical indirect air-cooled steam turbine generator sets. The total investment of the project is 77.1 billion yuan.
