German cable group NKT has secured five onshore and offshore power cable projects included in the long-term framework agreement with German transmission system operator TSO 50Hertz. The total order value of the projects is approximately EUR 3.5 billion, setting a new record for NKT. 50Hertz has chosen NKT to provide multiple 525 kV XLPE high-voltage direct current (HVDC) land and sea power cable systems for the continuous development of the German power grid. This is a multi-year framework agreement, which includes five firm turnkey contracts for specific projects, helping Germany transition to renewable energy. The total order value of these five projects is approximately EUR 3.5 billion, setting a new record for NKT, bringing the company's total order backlog for high voltage to more than EUR 10 billion.
