Panasonic Energy, the lithium-ion giant, is entering the battery recycling market, according to Japanese media reports. Chief Technology Officer Zorro Watanabe revealed that the company will officially launch the recycling and reuse program within five years in partnership with US-based Redwood Materials. The report said that the two sides have already cooperated in battery recycling, with Panasonic providing Redwood with defective batteries and waste from its Nevada factory. In the future, the two sides will deepen their cooperation in the recovery of rare metals with high purity technology.
