Guangdong Zinc Market: Zinc Traded With Discounts Against Front Month Contract

#0 zinc in Guangdong was traded at 21725~21830 yuan/mt today. Mainstream brands were quoted with premiums of 240~250 yuan/mt over SHFE 2311 zinc contract, with discounts of 230 yuan/mt against Shanghai prices.

#0 zinc in Guangdong was traded at 21725~21830 yuan/mt today. Mainstream brands were quoted with premiums of 240~250 yuan/mt over SHFE 2311 zinc contract, with discounts of 230 yuan/mt against Shanghai prices.

In the first trading session, Qilin, Huize and Mengzi zinc was quoted with discounts of 20 yuan/mt. Traders sold with discounts against the front-month contract.

In the second trading period, Qilin and Mengzi zinc were offered with premiums of 240~250 yuan/mt. As the festival approaches, downstream stockpiles have almost been completed, and the spot trading was poor.

Overnight, the U.S. trade deficit narrowed in November as domestic demand slowed, causing imports of consumer goods to reach their lowest level in a year. The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Statistics said the trade deficit shrank 2.0% in November to $63.2 billion. It is understood that economists had previously predicted that the deficit would increase to US$65 billion.
