Shanghai Zinc Market: More plants closed amid higher prices

Mainstream traded prices of #0 zinc were 22160~22450 yuan/mt today, with 22220~22520 yuan/mt for Shuangyan zinc, and 22090~22380 yuan/mt for #1 zinc.

Spot discounts fell to 30 ~ 40 yuan/mt over the average SMM zinc price.

During the second trading session, regular domestic brands were quoted with premiums of 180~190 yuan/mt over the SHFE 2310 zinc contract. Shuangyan zinc was quoted with premiums of 240~260 yuan/mt over the contract. Zinc prices rose rapidly today, and trades mainly occurred among traders.

As the holidays approach, enterprises purchased modestly. There were fewer transactions.
