SHANGHAI, Sep 22 (SMM) –Lithium carbonate prices dropped in the week ending September 21. The ongoing price decline has pushed prices below production costs for some companies, leading to reduced output and a minor supply drop. With the market flooded with low-priced lithium salts and anticipation of future ore price drops, there was a strong sell-off sentiment. Hence, prices are under pressure to drop. Short-term forecasts suggest a continued fall in lithium carbonate prices.
