China’s Lithium Hydroxide Exports Soared on Both MoM and YoY Basis in August

SHANGHAI, Sep 21 (SMM) – In August 2023, China’s lithium hydroxide export volume was 11,257 mt, a month-on-month increase of 30% and a year-on-year increase of 44%.

SHANGHAI, Sep 21 (SMM) – In August 2023, China’s lithium hydroxide export volume was 11,257 mt, a month-on-month increase of 30% and a year-on-year increase of 44%. From the perspective of export destinations, the largest export destination for lithium hydroxide was South Korea, with 8,040 mt being exported to this country, a month-on-month increase of 37%, followed by Japan (2,882 mt), a month-on-month increase of 28%. In terms of average price, in August 2023, the average export price of China's lithium hydroxide was $48,169/mt, an increase of 7% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 7%. Among them, the average price of lithium hydroxide exported to South Korea was $47,161/mt, and the average price of lithium hydroxide exported to Japan was $50,507/mt. From January to August 2023, China's lithium hydroxide export volume was 90,973 mt, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 39%.
