






According to Mining.com citing Reuters, a senior Indian mining ministry official held talks with Canadian officials on Monday on key mineral cooperation amid tensions between India and Canada.
India's Coal and Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi discussed "addressing issues of consolidating supply chains for critical minerals" with Canada's Yukon Territory Governor Ranj Pillai, the Indian government said in a statement.
The statement did not elaborate on the specific minerals discussed, but mentioned lead, zinc, silver, gold, asbestos and copper as top names in the Yukon.
Earlier this month, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed strong concerns with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau about the Sikh protests in Canada on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
Canada has suspended negotiations on a proposed trade treaty with India. Canadian Trade Minister Mary Ng also postponed a planned trade visit to India.
