China’s alumina spot price ascends 2.25% M-o-M, falling 1.37% Y-o-Y; SMM A00 aluminium ingot price skids US$50/t

China’s alumina spot price has skipped RMB 1 per tonne upwards, officially closing at RMB 2,913 per tonne.

China’s alumina spot price has skipped RMB 1 per tonne upwards, officially closing at RMB 2,913 per tonne. The alumina spot price in Shandong has levitated by RMB 10 per tonne, stopping at RMB 2,875 per tonne, while the alumina price in Shanxi has stepped up the graph by RMB 5 per tonne, closing at RMB 2,930 per tonne.
If we consider the alumina spot price on July 24, which was RMB 2,849 per tonne, it can be seen that there is a Month-on-Month influx of RMB 64 per tonne or 2.25 per cent. But if we record the US$2,953 per tonne alumina price on August 24, 2022, calculations suggest there has been a Year-on-Year downfall of RMB 40 per tonne or 1.37 per cent.
The Shanghai Metals Market on August 24 displayed a subtle drop in prices, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price closing at RMB 18,810 per tonne, with a slump of RMB 50 per tonne. The average aluminium ingot prices have hovered between RMB 18,790 per tonne and RMB 18,830 per tonne.
China’s major provinces have shown declining prices today, with the SMM aluminium price falling the highest in Foshan by RMB 80 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,670 per tonne. In Gongyi, the aluminium price dived by RMB 60 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,690 per tonne, followed by RMB 50 per tonne downward trend in Hangzhou and Linyi, where the aluminium prices clocked at RMB 18,810 per tonne and RMB 18,810 per tonne, respectively. The aluminium prices in Wuxi and Chongqing have both shed RMB 40 per tonne to halt at RMB 18,840 per tonne and RMB 18,790 per tonne. In Tianjin, the aluminium price shifted down by RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 18,780 per tonne. Lastly, if we mention Shenyang, there has been no noticeable change in the aluminium price, with it staying stuck at RMB 18,760 per tonne.
SMM A00 aluminium ingot price historical data shows the price of low-carbon aluminium in China has plunged by RMB 58 per tonne to stop at RMB 19,448 per tonne.
The high-purity aluminium price (99.99%) and the high-purity aluminium price (99.996%) have shown no change at all.
The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and the price of aluminium alloy (A360) have both dipped by RMB 50 per tonne, officially settling at RMB 19,450 per tonne and RMB 19,700 per tonne.
China’s aluminium powder price has added RMB 0.10 per kg to close at RMB 20.70 per kg, with average prices circulating between RMB 20.60 per kg and RMB 20.80 per kg.
