






According to the World Steel Association, in July 2023, the global crude steel production of 63 countries included in the statistical range was 158.5 million mt, an increase of 6.6% YoY. In July 2023, Africa’s crude steel output was 1.4 million mt, an increase of 26.1% YoY. Asia and Oceania’s crude steel output was 119.9 million mt, an increase of 9.1% YoY. EU (27 countries) crude steel output was 10.3 million mt, an increase of 7.1% YoY, while other European countries’ output was 3.6 million mt, an increase of 5.1% YoY. The crude steel output of the Middle East was 3.1 million mt, a decrease of 3.9% YoY. The crude steel output of North America was 9.4 million mt, a decrease of 1.2% YoY. The output of Russia, Commonwealth of Independent States, and Ukraine totaled 7.4 million mt, an increase of 9.3% YoY. The output of crude steel in South America was 3.4 million mt, a decrease of 8.4% YoY. In July, the top five countries by production were China, India, Japan, the United States, and Russia.
