At the 2023 SMM Zinc Industry Conference, Jinrui Futures Research Institute Research Director Zeng Tong said that data showed that in the first half of this year, from the start of production of various processing links, the equivalent consumption of zinc year-on-year showed a more significant increase; in terms of total volume, the year-on-year growth rate of zinc consumption in processing links was also around 7%; from the perspective of sub-industries, the growth rate of galvanized sheet and coil was the most significant, while the change in die-casting and zinc oxide industries was relatively small.

The year-on-year growth rate of exports of galvanized processing products in the first half of the year was also good. Through various categories of tariff codes, the zinc metal volume exported through galvanized processing products increased by 30,000 tons from January to May, equivalent to a consumption of 0.5% of zinc;

From the raw material inventory in the hands of processing enterprises, the raw material inventory in the primary processing industry has gradually increased since the beginning of the year. According to the current stage, the equivalent zinc metal volume is also half a point.
