SMM analysis: How does the lead-carbon battery project perform in the background of rapid growth of new energy storage projects (with lead-carbon storage project combing)? On July 31, 2023, the National Energy Bureau held an online press conference in the third quarter of 2023. By the end of June 2023, the cumulative installed capacity of newly built and put into operation energy storage projects in China had exceeded 17.33GW/35.80GWh, with an average storage time of 2.1 hours. From January to June 2023, the newly installed capacity was about 8.63GW/17.72GWh, which was equivalent to the total installed capacity of previous years. Under the background of rapid growth of new energy storage projects, large-scale lead-carbon battery projects have been put into operation one after another, and the policy support for the energy storage industry has been strengthened. Lead-carbon batteries have become an important participant, which has also become a hot spot of lead consumption in 2023.
