Saudi Arabia is entering the copper and nickel mining industry by acquiring equity in mining companies' base metal businesses. Saudi Mining Company and Saudi Public Investment Fund have established a joint venture, Manara Minerals Investment Company, to invest in global mining assets and support the development of a resilient global supply chain. The company's initial investment targets are copper, nickel and lithium.
