Last week, the price of high-purity silica sand remained steady. For leading companies, the prices of silica sand used in outer, middle and inner layers of quartz crucible were 370,000-420,000 yuan/mt, 190,000-230,000 yuan/mt and 100,000-120,000 yuan/mt respectively. Other companies priced the silica sand for outer layers at 70,000-90,000 yuan/mt.

SMM research shows that leading companies plan to raise the price of silica sand for inner layers again shortly. The reasons remained the climbing operating rates from downstream and potentially smaller price gap between China and foreign silica sand upon the arrival of imported sand.
