According to the person in charge of the Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Commerce, from January to June 2023, China’s foreign investment kept growing, seeing foreign non-financial direct investment of 431.61 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.7% (equivalent to $62.29 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%). The non-financial direct investment of Chinese enterprises in the countries along the "Belt and Road" was 80.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.3% (equivalent to $11.57 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%), accounting for 18.6% of the total over the same period. From January to June, the turnover of foreign contracted projects was 490.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7%, and the value of newly signed contracts was 655.98 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3%.
