SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) - The prices of lithium ore climbed further along with rising lithium carbonate prices last week. Lepidolite prices rose rapidly as environmental protection checks in Jiangxi tightened supply. Lepidolite mines in Hunan province received a large number of inquiries and orders. Mines were reluctant to sell, awaiting higher prices in the future. Spodumene prices also went up. Since overseas mines have a bigger say in spodumene pricing, some lithium salt plants who source spodumene externally remain closed due to high costs.
