SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) - The prices of ternary cathode precursor inched lower last week.

SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) - The prices of ternary cathode precursor inched lower last week. Ternary cathode material plants increased purchases of medium and low-nickel precursors after lithium prices rallied, but still bargained down purchase prices. The overall operating rates of ternary cathode precursor plants picked up, mainly contributed by production resumptions at large plants. Oversupply prevented precursor prices from rising. The current precursor prices are close to producers’ production costs and thus may temporarily stabilise.
