Silica prices remained stable this week.

SHANGHAI, May 19 (SMM) - Silica prices remained stable this week. The ex-factory prices of high-grade silica in Hubei were 400-470 yuan/mt, those of low-grade silica in Yunnan were 300-340 yuan/mt, and those of high-grade silica in Inner Mongolia stood at 420-450 yuan/mt. The impact of previous mine accidents in Inner Mongolia on local mines will not ease until the end of May. In June, the silica mining and shipment in Inner Mongolia may improve, easing the supply tightness, and thus the silica prices are expected to stabilise.

During the survey period (April 30-May 6), the weekly output of rebar decreased and the output of wire rod increased at steel mills in central China this week. The total inventory of steel mills increased slightly, but the inventory trends of rebar and wire rod were differentiated. It is expected that the output of steel mills in central China will increase in the next period.
