According to a report released by the International Cobalt Institute, Indonesia became the world's second-largest supplier of cobalt last year, second only to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The report shows that Indonesia's cobalt production increased from 2,700 mt in 2021 to 9,500 mt last year, accounting for 5% of global supply. The International Cobalt Institute predicts that Indonesia has the potential to increase cobalt production tenfold by 2030.
