Global Blast Furnace Pig Iron Production Increased By 3.1% Year-On-Year In The First Quarter Of 2023

According to the statistics of the World Steel Association, the production of blast furnace pig iron in 37 countries and regions in the first quarter of 2023 was 323 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.

According to the statistics of the World Steel Association, the production of blast furnace pig iron in 37 countries and regions in the first quarter of 2023 was 323 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%. In 2022, 38 countries and regions accounted for 98% of global production of blast furnace pig iron.

In the first quarter of 2023, Asian blast furnace pig iron production increased by 5.9% year-on-year to 271 million mt. Among them, China's output increased by 7.6% year-on-year to 219.8 million mt, India’s output increased by 5.9% year-on-year to 21.628 million mt, Japan’s output decreased by 6.4% year-on-year to 15.67 million mt, and South Korea’s output decreased by 0.1% year-on-year to 10.75 million mt.
