SMM Weekly NMC Precursor Market Review and Forecast 

SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) – The prices of NMC precursor inched lower last week. The costs of high-nickel precursors declined due to falling nickel salt prices. Some low and medium-nickel precursor plants have long been struggling in loss-making territory. The demand for low and medium-nickel precursor has picked up recently. This, coupled with stabilising lithium prices and relatively low raw material inventory of cathode active material plants, may boost purchases of low and medium-nickel precursor. The prices of low and medium-nickel precursor are expected to stabilise, while those of high-nickel precursors may drop slightly.
