SHANGHAI, Apr 27 (SMM) - According to SMM research, as of April 25, the operating rates of 34 electric furnace-based steel mills across the country who mainly produce rebar was 41.06%, down 4.09 percentage points from a week ago. Their average capacity utilisation rate was 44.39%, down 4.08 percentage points WoW. Their daily average rebar output was 79,100 mt, a drop of 7,300 mt WoW.
In view of growing losses and falling spot steel prices, more EFs may be shut down for maintenance next week.
