Official Data: China Raw Coal Production Rises 5.5% YoY in Q1 2023, Coal Imports Soar

In March, the production of raw coal in China was 420 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, and the growth rate was 1.5 percentage points slower than that in January-February, with an average daily output of 13.46 million mt.

China’s coal import was 41.17 million mt in March, a year-on-year increase of 150.7%, and the growth rate was 79.9 percentage points faster than that in January-February.

China’s raw coal production rose 5.5% YoY to 115 million mt in Q1 2023.

China’s coal import was 100 million mt in Q1 2023, up 96.1% YoY.
