SMM Midday Comments (Apr 19): SHFE Metals Gained With Nickel Surging, LME Metals Fell Across the Board

As of 11:34 CST, the dollar was at 101.77, up 0.03%.

As of 11:34 CST, the dollar was at 101.77, up 0.03%.

WTI oil fell 0.11%, while Brent oil fell 0.14%. SHFE base metals generally rose.

SHFE nickel rose 4.36%. SHFE aluminum, SHFE zinc and SHFE lead all climbed.

Most ferrous metals prices fell.Iron ore fell 1.02%. Both rebar and hot-rolled coil saw slight declines.

LME base metals fell across the board, with tin leading the declines. COMEX gold fell 0.14%; COMEX silver rose 0.01%. Domestic precious metal futures all rose.
