EU Largest Tin Mine’s Output Surged to All-Time High in 2022

Output at Penouta, the EU's largest tin mine, hit a record high in 2022 after a successful transition to open-pit mining.

Penouta is located in the northwest of Spain and has been operating since 2018.

The owner Strategic Minerals Europe (SME) was processing B1 tailings material before switching to open pit mining early last year.
