SHANGHAI, Apr 11 (SMM) - China’s LCO output stood at 5,255 mt in March, up 20% MoM, but down 25% YoY. On the supply side, the output of top-tier LCO plants increased in March, but was significantly below that in the same period last year due to poor demand from the digital electronics market. On the demand side, orders from battery cell makers improved only mildly as the electronics market remained sluggish. In terms of input costs, lithium carbonate prices slumped, while CO3O4 prices dropped slightly. Slack demand and lower costs weighed on LCO prices.
