






According to foreign media reports, on March 21, Volkswagen Group's second battery plant in Europe officially started construction. It is located in Valencia, Spain. It is expected to start production in 2026. The initial annual production capacity is 40 GWh, and it may expand to 60 GWh in the future.
It is reported that the Volkswagen Group has taken battery technology as the core element of its electrification transformation strategy. In July 2022, the Volkswagen Group broke ground on its battery factory in Salzgitter, Germany, and established the battery company PowerCo to build electric vehicle batteries. .
Last week (March 13), Volkswagen Group and its battery company PowerCo announced that they had chosen St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada to build Volkswagen Group's first battery super factory outside Europe.
