Operating Rates at Blast Furnaces Inched Higher amid Production Resumptions

SHANGHAI, Mar 27 (SMM) - SMM research showed that the average operating rate of blast furnaces stood at 93.46% last week, up 0.30 percentage point from a week earlier. The capacity utilisation rate averaged 94.23%, up 0.35 percentage point on the week. The daily average pig iron output of sample steel mills was 2.26 million mt, up 8,300 mt from the previous week.

Two blast furnaces in east China and one furnace in north China were brought back into operation, allowing the operating rates to increase slightly.
