SHFE and LME Metals Prices Drop Today, with SHFE Nickel and Coking Coal Slumping by 2.49% and 3% Respectively

On March 21, the US dollar index rose, and crude oil futures prices fell slightly.

SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) - On March 21, the US dollar index rose, and crude oil futures prices fell slightly. As of 15:10, the US dollar index added 0.13%, and US crude oil and Brent Crude dipped over 0.6%.

Metals futures market:

SHFE: As of the close of the day, the base metals prices generally dropped. SHFE copper and lead rose 0.78% and 0.06% respectively. Nickel slumped 2.49%, zinc dipped 0.51%, aluminium fell 0.11%, and tin lost 0.03%.

Ferrous metals: Stainless steel futures added 0.03%. Coking coal, iron ore, and rebar futures declined more than 3%, 2.22% and 1.82% respectively. Coke and HRC futures both lost 1.7%.

Precious metals: SHFE gold gained 0.31%; silver rose 0.39%.

LME: LME metals futures generally declined. As of 15:15, LME aluminium stood flat, copper fell 0.07%, lead lost 0.35%, zinc dipped 0.66%, and tin dropped 0.88%.

Precious metals all declined. As of 15:16, COMEX gold dipped 0.14%; silver declined 0.09%.
