Rebar Output to Rise With Upcoming Peak Season

SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) - The total rebar steel output last week was basically the same as the previous week. Although some EAF-based steel mills resumed the production, the output increased limitedly amid poor profits. In addition, some BF-based steel mills carried out maintenance, hence the overall output fluctuated narrowly. In the follow-up stage, the rebar output is still expected to increase with the upcoming peak season. On the other hand, HRC output fluctuated narrowly last week as some steel mills were still affected by maintenance while some others slightly increased production amid rising profits. The weekly HRC output will rebound significantly after the impact of maintenance ease in late March.
