SHANGHAI, Mar 17 (SMM) - In early March, the new orders of copper-zinc alloy billet producers rose somewhat, but the growth is not expected to last. In fact, the export orders have declined significantly since the fourth quarter of 2022, and there is no significant improvement after the CNY. The market expects that overseas orders will barely improve in 2023. Meanwhile, the Chinese demand is also not optimistic. According to some billet enterprises, demand from hardware and bathroom accessory sectors did not grow as fast as expected since the real estate industry has not improved significantly even under the stimulus of various policies. And it is thus expected that the recovery of the copper-zinc alloy billet industry will still take some time. On the other hand, the auto parts industry has limited demand for copper-zinc alloy billets, thus failing to boost the orders. Copper-zinc alloy billet enterprises, in conclusion, faced great challenges amid poor domestic and overseas demand.
