SHANGHAI, Mar 16 (SMM) - China's imports of copper anode stood at 84,400 mt in December 2022, down 7.62% month-on-month and 6.86% year-on-year. Imports from January to December 2022 totalled approximately 1.17 million mt, up 24.39% YoY.
The decrease in imported Zambian copper anode in December was the main reason for the MoM decrease in China’s copper anode imports. In December, China imported a combined 30,800 mt of copper anode from Zambia, a decrease of 24.49% or about 10,000 mt from the previous month. Imports from Congo were around 11,200 mt, an increase of 15.61% or 1,500 mt from November. In January, China imported a total of 8,500 mt of copper anode from South Africa, an increase of 165.6% or 5,000 mt from the previous month.
