Drops in Lithium Carbonate and Lithium Hydroxide Prices to Slow Down in March

Hyundai Motor is set to officially launch the IONIQ V, a China-focused midsize electric sedan, in China on September 29. Its presale prices range from RMB 119,900 to RMB 139,900. The car will use CATL-supplied LFP batteries in 53.5 kWh and 66.8 kWh versions. Their respective driving ranges are about 520 km and 650 km under China’s CLTC standard. The model also supports 800 V fast charging.

[NIO's Li Bin: 4,125 battery swapping stations nationwide form an 8 GWh energy storage network] On September 27, NIO Chairman Li Bin said at the PowerUP2026 NIO Power Day event that NIO has put 4,125 battery swapping stations into operation, which can form an 8 GWh energy storage network to serve car owners and society at large. Li Bin noted that the 4,125th NIO battery swapping station has been put into operation at Sayram Lake. This battery swapping route starts from Xi'an, Shaanxi in the east and extends to Khorgos, Xinjiang in the west, spanning a total length of 3,605 kilometers with 33 battery swapping stations along the way. Once the route is fully connected, both NIO and Onvo owners will be able to experience long-distance pure electric travel with battery swapping along the Silk Road.

On September 23, Hunan Yuneng announced that its board of directors approved a resolution agreeing to raise the construction scale of the Spain project to an annual output of 70,000 tonnes of lithium battery cathode materials, adjust the total investment to approximately RMB1.65 billion equivalent, and authorize management to handle various specific matters related to the adjustment of the project investment scale.
