SHANGHAI, Mar 15 - Prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide shed 10% and 8% MoM respectively in February.
Lithium salt supply remained in a significant glut even as some salt plants undertook maintenance and demand recovered slightly. This, combined with the previous stockpiling in large volumes by salt factories, prompted some plants and traders to sell off cargoes, accelerating the price drop.
Lithium hydroxide prices declined in lockstep with lithium carbonate, but the support of overseas demand as well as scarce available spot cargoes slowed the price decline compared to the latter.
