SHFE and LME Nonferrous Metals Prices Fall, and SHFE Tin and Nickel Crash 4.01% and 3.42% Respectively

The US dollar moved rangebound around noon, and the metals prices generally fell.

SHANGHAI, Mar 10 (SMM) - SHFE tin prices trended lower after opening and crashed 4.01% at noon. SHFE nickel prices slumped 3.42%. Prices of SHFE aluminium and zinc dipped 1.13% and 1.59% respectively. SHFE copper prices dropped 0.56%, and SHFE lead prices fell 0.2%.

LME metals prices dropped except for LME nickel whose trading has not yet opened. LME tin and zinc slumped 2.63% and 1.45% respectively. LME copper, aluminium and lead dropped 0.88%, 0.67% and 0.24% respectively.

Crude oil futures rose slightly today. As of 15:19 CST, WTI oil rose 0.7% and Brent oil rose 0.56%.

As of July 29, the most-traded stainless steel contract fell to 15,280 yuan/mt overnight, a new low since May 21, 2021. The contract rallied in day trading, and once recorded a gain of 1.41%. The contract finally closed the day at 1.32%.
