The European Union's purchases of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) have reached their highest level in three years, according to Bruegel. The 27 EU member imported 19.2 billion m3 of LNG from Russia in 2022, the highest volume in more than three years and a 35% increase from 2021, when it was 14.2 billion m3.
