






SHANGHAI, Feb 28 (SMM) - On February 27, Mercedes-Benz China publicly announced that it has formally signed a memorandum of cooperation with GEM and CATL to jointly carry out a closed-loop recycling project for end-of-life power batteries.
According to the agreement, after Mercedes-Benz, China handed over the end-of-life power batteries to GEM and Brunp recycling, the recycled nickel, cobalt, manganese, lithium and other key raw materials were re-supplied to CATL’s supply chain and used for the production of new batteries for Mercedes-Benz. At the same time, all parties will carry out extensive and in-depth exploration and cooperation around battery recycling technology and recycling business models.
SMM believes that the strong alliance of Mercedes-Benz, CATL, GEM, and Brunp Cycling will give full play to their respective core advantages. They jointly establish a new energy strategic partnership with global influence and create a "car-power battery-battery recycling-car" recycling channels, actively explore advanced technologies for power battery recycling and new business cooperation models, and serve the more environmentally friendly and efficient development of the world's new energy automobile industry.
