






Uber (UBER.US) will roll out 25,000 electric vehicles in India for its ride-sharing service within three years.
The ride-hailing platform's fleet partners will buy 25,000 units of XPRES-T electric vehicles from Tata Motors (TTM.US), Uber India and South Asia president Prabhjeet Singh said.
"We will be an important catalyst in accelerating the (electric vehicle) ecosystem," Singh added.
According to Uber, the fleet of electric vehicles will operate in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Tata Motors will gradually start deliveries from this month.
