Centrica's Trading Profits Explode amid Surging Energy Prices

With the support of electricity and liquefied natural gas trading, Centrica made record profits through its trading department, which helped promote the British utility company to achieve the best profit in history. Centrica said on Thursday that its trading department made an operating profit of 1.4 billion pounds ($1.69 billion) last year, up from 70 million pounds a year ago. The business of this department includes managed renewable energy assets and liquefied natural gas trading.  After a good start in 2022, the LNG business achieved annual profit.
