According to the report released by the US Li-Bridge Alliance, global lithium battery demand is estimated to post a fivefold spike by 2030 when an increasing number of consumers prefer electric vehicles and energy storage systems. T
he report also points out that the global lithium battery market size will reach $55 billion by 2030, but the United States will still rely on imported lithium batteries by then. The soaring demand for electric vehicles in the past few years is partly a result of surging fuel prices.
In the coming years, lithium batteries, apart from its application in vehicles, will also play an important role in military systems, end consumption, medical system and industrial electronics.
