China's Industrial-grade Lithium Carbonate Output to Rise Further in Feb

SHANGHAI, Feb 14 (SMM) - China's industrial-grade lithium carbonate output reached 17,030 mt in January, up 1% MoM and 59% YoY.

Although the production of salt lake was reduced for cold weather and spodumene-based smelters carried out maintenance during the CNY holiday,  the aggressive capacity release in lepidolite-based smelters still boosted the industrial-grade lithium carbonate supply to grow over the month.

In February, the maintainance of some spodumene-based smelters was still ongoing, but the production of salt lake rallied drastically on warmer weather.

It is thus estimated that the industrial-grade lithium carbonate output will add 1% month-on-month to 17,142 mt.
