SHANGHAI, Feb 10 (SMM) – Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade showed that Indonesia’s refined tin export volume in January was 1536.55 mt, a decrease of 80% from the previous month. As China is one of the important buyers of Indonesian tin, the Chinese New Year had big impact on Indonesia’s refined tin export volume. Besides, the adjustment of tin ingot export quota by the Indonesian government also led to lower exports.

Looking back at the trend of Indonesia's refined tin export volume, the total export volume in 2021 was about 74,600 mt, and the export volume in 2022 increased by 4.56% year-on-year. However, the export volume in January 2022 dropped significantly, hitting the lowest level since 2017, reaching 1,200 mt.
