SHANGHAI, Feb 9 (SMM) - Today, high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia was quoted at 9,200-9,400 yuan/mt (Cr50%), flat from the previous trading day.
At present, the ferrochrome plants in north China still maintained some profits. The high season in the stainless steel market is yet to come, so the downstream enterprises were cautious about purchasing, making it hard for ferrochrome trades to be closed at high prices. However, the shortage of chrome ore still persists, which suggests that the cost support for ferrochrome is still strong.
Therefore, the ferrochrome prices are unlikely to retreat, but are expected to remain stable.
