SHANGHAI, Feb 8 (SMM) - Yesterday, SHFE 2303 lead contract rose slightly after opening, but then gradually fell back and hovered sideways. Today, the SHFE 2303 lead contract maintained an upward trend but the increase slowed down and SHFE 2303 lead contract closed at 15,280 yuan/mt at noon, up 0.43%, with the open interest declined 1,945 lots to 71,265 lots. The open interest of SHFE 2302 lead contract stood at 8,245 lots, down 10 lots.
In terms of the secondary lead spot market, the ex-factory prices offered by secondary refined lead smelters generally rose 50 yuan/mt this morning and were in discounts of 75 yuan/mt against SMM 1# lead ingots. Some enterprises were unwilling to deliver in the form of small orders due to the losses. Most large-sized smelters also delivered in the form of long-term orders.
