Global Shipments of Lithium-Ion Batteries Ballooned 70.3% YoY in 2022, with China Dominating 69%

Recently, data from the White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium-ion Battery Industry (2023) jointly released by research institutions EVTank, Evie Economic Research Institute and China Battery Industry Research Institute show that in 2022, the global shipments of lithium-ion batteries were 957.7GWh, a year-on-year increase of 70.3%.

Recently, data from the White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium-ion Battery Industry (2023) jointly released by research institutions EVTank, Evie Economic Research Institute and China Battery Industry Research Institute show that in 2022, the global shipments of lithium-ion batteries were 957.7GWh, a year-on-year increase of 70.3%.

In addition, the white paper shows that in 2022, China's lithium-ion battery shipments reached 660.8GWh, a year-on-year increase of 97.7%, accounting for 69.0% of the global lithium-ion battery shipments. The share was up from 59.4% in 2021.
