US Dollar Gains Capped as Powell Fails to Turn Hawkish

The increase in US dollar index was capped on Tuesday as the Fed Chairman Jerome Powell failed to turn hawkish despite Friday's stellar US non-farm payrolls. Powell reiterated the call of slow inflation and he expected inflation to fall sharply this year. That convinced investors that the Fed was unlikely to tighten policy further.
