Aluminium Smelters in Yunnan Maintain Stable Operation

At present, the total operating aluminium capacity in Yunnan is about 4.04 million mt.

SHANGHAI, Jan 31 (SMM) - According to the latest SMM survey, most of the aluminium smelters in Yunnan Province are currently maintaining their operating rates at pre-holiday levels. Some smelters said another power rationing-induced production cuts are possible in the short term, though there has been no specific notice from the government to date.

SMM data show that the operating rates of aluminium smelters in Yunnan have been stable since the power rationing was implemented in the third quarter of last year. At present, the total operating aluminium capacity in Yunnan is about 4.04 million mt.
