SHANGHAI, Jan 19 (SMM) – BHP (BHP.US), the world's largest mining company, has released its iron ore output for the first half of its fiscal year and forecasted that China will drive demand for commodities in 2023 now that it has opened up.
BHP's copper production in the second fiscal quarter was 424,300 mt, and the total iron ore output in Western Australia was 74.29 million mt. It still predicted that the annual attributable ore output will be 249-260 million mt, and the total iron ore output in Western Australia for the whole year at 278-290 million mt. It still forecasted full-year copper production will stand at 1.64-1.83 million mt.
