SHANGHAI, Jan 16 (SMM) -As of January 13, the inventory of nickel ore across Chinese ports dropped 133,000 wmt to 8.68 million wmt. The total Ni content fell 1,000 mt to about 68,000 mt. The port inventory of nickel ore across seven major Chinese ports dipped slightly to 4.88 million wmt from the previous week. NPI output may fall MoM in January because of the maintenance carried out by steel mills and NPI plants, slowing down the nickel ore consumption. And the port inventory can hardly increase as the imports of nickel ore are low during the rainy season in the Philippines. Nickel ore inventory at Chinese ports will trend lower in the near future.
