Monthly Price of SMM 1# Lead Ingot Rose and the Profits of Secondary Lead Smelters Expanded

SHANGHAI, Jan 10 (SMM) - The monthly price of SMM 1# lead ingot was about 15,565.9 yuan/mt last week, up about 84 yuan/mt from 15,481.8 yuan/mt the previous week. However, the purchasing prices of lead-acid battery scrap offered by most secondary refined lead smelters did not change last week and the costs of raw materials remained the same as the previous week. Only some enterprises raised their purchasing prices last Wednesday, but the prices gradually decreased last Friday. On the whole, the production profits of secondary refined lead smelters expanded last week. The profits gradually expanded from 200-500 yuan/mt the previous week to 300-600 yuan/mt last week based on the specific discount. As such, the secondary refined lead smelters are active in production. It is learned that most smelters will maintain normal production during the Chinese New Year.
